Edward Trenton
(Played by Adrian Hough)

Edward Trenton is a business friend of Laurie's, and came to Concord on business.  He heard Meg sing a solo in church and was instantly taken with her.  He is a rather quiet and refined man, with traditional views about the role of women.  He asks Meg to marry him (in The Weaker Sex), but Meg declines, since he requires her to go to New York to live.

Harrison Bridger
(Played by Jack Nicholsen)

Harrison Bridger is the town's new newspaper man.  He is a funny, stubborn man.  He initially is attracted to Jo, but he finally gets it through his head that Jo and Nick are meant for each other.  Then, at the "Enchanted Ball", he and Meg dance together.  Harrison stands up for Plumfield when it is under a negligence suit.  (He appeared in these episodes: Civil Disobedience, Stepping Out, and The Weaker Sex.)

Dr. Pierce
(Played by Ian D. Clark)

Dr. Pierce is the doctor of Concord.  He is a quiet, kind man.  When Nan told him she wanted to be a doctor, Dr. Pierce urged her to be a nurse instead, telling her the field of a doctor was new and hard for women.  He comes out to Plumfield on several occasions, and stands trial against the schemes of Eli McBride.

Eli McBride
(Played by R. D. Reid)

Eli McBride is a lawyer, but his tactics are far from just.  When Tommy's parents claim a negligence suit against Jo and the Plumfield school, Mr. McBride tries to get Jo to sell the school to him.  His desire to own the school is only a result of his own greed, not that of the children's welfare, as he claims.  He later tries to convict Nick of murder.  He is in these episodes (beware!) : Civil Disobedience, and Home for Christmas, and is mentioned in Changes, the first episode.

Jasper
(Played by Jason McSkimming)

Jasper is an orphan who used to live on the streets with Dan in Boston.  When he comes to Plumfield, he tries to get Dan and Nat to go on a trip out West with him.  Dan refuses despite his desire to see the West and Jasper retaliates by robbing someone and trying to frame Dan for it.  Then, he holds a gun on Rob.  He is put in jail for his crimes.  He is in the episode Tough Choices.

Marcus Carter
(Played by Morgan Freeman)

Marcus is only in one episode (Quarantine).  He was the first Plumfield student to catch the measels, and the only one not to survive.  Jo and Marcus' parents are devastated at his death.

Jack Ford
(Played by Dov Tiefenbach)

Jack is in the first few episodes and has small parts, so we don't know much about his character.  He does get into some fights with Dan, but that's about all we know about him.

    Isaac Jones
(Played by Michael Oliphant)

Isaac and his parents were freed from slavery.  Isaac is found stealing from Plumfield since his family doesn't have enough money to buy food.  Isaac stays at Plumfield in the episode Emancipation.

Josiah Jones
(Played by Desmond Campbell)

Josiah is Isaac's father.

Ruth Jones
(Played by Arlene Duncan)

Ruth is Isaac's mother and Josiah's wife.  She stays at Plumfield for a while and Jo tries to help her find a job in town.  She's good at sewing, but at first no one seems to trust her or respect her.

Levi Cole
(Played by Don Francks)

Levi Cole is a fisherman.  He and Nick were very good friends since the first time they sailed together. When they meet again (in the Thanksgiving episode) Nick tells Levi about Plumfield and Levi gives Nick some words of advice.  Then Levi dies.

Sheriff Berkley

(Played by _____?)

      The sheriff of Concord.

Judge
(Can anyone tell me his name?)

(Played by Walter Bolton)

This is the judge of Concord who acquits Nick in Home for Christmas. (Yay for you, whatever your name is!)

  Lionel Dandridge
(played by Ron Hartman)

He comes to Plumfield to be a teacher, but he doesn't like the way the school is in a barn, and is critical of the way they do things.  He invents an excuse to Captain Hoffman, and Franz is allowed to continue as the Plumfield teacher.

Mr. Owens
(played by Ben Cardinal)

Mr. Owens is an Indian who becomes friends with Dan.

Captain Hoffman
(Played by John Borgeios)

Captain Hoffman is Emil's uncle.  He wants to take Emil out of the Plumfield school after Fritz Bhaer dies.  Capt. Hoffman wanted to send Emil to military school in Pennsylvania, but Emil said he didn't want to go.  When Emil jumped off the train that was taking him to Pennsylvania, Capt. Hoffman beat him for his disobedience.

Mr. Leonard
(Played by Richard Liss)

Mr. Leonard is a father who takes his son out of the Plumfield school, giving the excuse that there is no teacher and no caretaker.

Max the Dog
(played by Max Rochfort)

Max romps along with Nick and the children on various occasions.
